About Uni.ReeDia
Uni.ReeDia was founded by Katarina Lukich in 2016, combining the craft of oboe reed making with personalized oboe lessons to create a unique offering. The name Uni.ReeDia stands for Unicorn Reeds. The unicorn was chosen as a symbol because, throughout history, unicorns have represented purity and uniqueness. Since the oboe is such a distinctive instrument, Katarina believes its players and reeds should reflect the same qualities of boldness, grace, and beauty just as a unicorn does.
Uni.ReeDia provides oboe lessons both via Zoom and in-person at Katarina’s home. These lessons are tailored to all skill levels and focus on the musicality of oboe playing as well as the art of reed making.
The reeds offered come in various levels, including professional and intermediate options, as well as the triplet bundles that provide essential reeds for daily practice, performance, and experimentation. Each reed is carefully handcrafted using only the highest quality Loree and Rigotti cane and staples, resulting in a rich, unique tone. Katarina’s dedication to her craft means that every reed is made with precision and care.
The mission of Uni.ReeDia is to share knowledge and passion for the oboe with musicians worldwide. As a token of appreciation, customers who collect five unicorns through their orders receive a free reed on their next purchase.
